Help Beautify Our Community
Volunteers are needed throughout the year to help beautify Broward County’s municipal services district neighborhoods. Participating communities include Roosevelt Gardens, Franklin Park, Boulevard Gardens, Washington Park and Broadview Park. Cleanup events are scheduled from 8AM to 12PM in various locations. Everyone’s welcome to lend a helping hand and students who take part can receive community service hours. Bags and gloves will be provided for picking up litter and trash. Free refreshments will be available to volunteer workers. For more information contact Elaine Barrett at 954-474-1870.
Volunteer Airport Ambassadors
Volunteer Airport Ambassadors are often the first and last contact for millions of guests as they travel through Broward County’s Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Ambassadors walk the airport terminals assisting guests in need, work at dedicated information booths, and respond to inquiries for flight information and accessing airport services. They also provide directions to local attractions, and answer questions about transportation, hotel, dining, and shopping.
If you’re interested in becoming a volunteer Airport Ambassador, we’d love to talk with you. We look for reliable and dedicated individuals who are physically able to meet the demands of working in a dynamic and spacious airport environment. You must be at least 16 years old, and submit to a background check, are fingerprinted and badged.
Our guests love seeing warm, wet noses, and wagging tails. AmbassaDogs are certified Therapy Dogs, with handlers who complete classroom and in-terminal training to learn about FLL. Handlers comply with their registering agencies’ policies and procedures, as well as airport volunteer policies and procedures. For more information about these programs, call the Airport Volunteer Coordinator at 954-359-2589 or email VolunteerFLL@broward.org

We Love Our Volunteers
A volunteer appreciation event was hosted in honor of the wonderful people who choose to volunteer at Broward County Animal Care. This event was held as a special way to thank the volunteers for all that they contribute to, both inside and outside, the facility. We are always in need of great volunteers who are hard-working, organized, and understand the culture here. Every day we take in a plethora of animals that are in need of a home and it’s only with the assistance of dedicated volunteers that we are able to rise to meet the challenge.
