In the half-dozen years since the Parks and Recreation Division revamped and relaunched our volunteer program as “Volunteers Improving Parks,” our supplemental VIP workforce has grown to nearly 3,000 registered participants annually. From our front offices to the front lines out in the parks, volunteers enhance and energize our organization at virtually every level, contributing more than 43,000 hours of labor in fiscal year 2015.
Opportunities ranging from one-time workdays to ongoing projects are available for both individuals (including students) and groups of all sizes.
