From the Coordinator
Dear AAS Volunteers,
Happy 17th Anniversary- and we’re still going
strong!!!
We
want to thank each and every one of you who helped
to make this program so successful! For those of you
interested in becoming part of such a dynamic group committed to
making Broward County, Clean and Green, join us at one of our
upcoming events during the Great American Clean Up (GAC). This
event starts on March 1 and runs through May 31, 2012.
Details are on our website.
Just a side note, an article in the USA Today newspaper
revealed that people need some type of involvement within their
community. According to USA Today/Gallup Poll, 48% of
Americans see community action as very important, while 41% see it
as somewhat important. Using this data for Broward County,
this means that over 900,000 residents really want to be involved in
some type of community activity. With only 9,000 volunteers
helping out, we’ve got a ways to.
Our litter prevention program offers the exciting opportunity for
you to become involved and make a difference in your neighborhood,
on our scenic beaches, around our schools or at your place of
business. It only takes a few hours each year. Join us
at one of our many scheduled events this year, like during the Great
American Clean Up (GAC) or Adopt-A-Street (AAS), in your
neighborhood. You’ll be glad you did!
Look for us soon on Facebook for up to date
information on our GAC events for 2012.
Keep’n it Clean and Green
