Solid Waste and Recycling Services is proud to offer outreach programs to the residents of Broward County. Outreach activities highlight recycling, how waste-to-energy plants work, and landfilling. Programs are available for children and adult groups. The goal of the Wonderful World of Waste (W.W.O.W!) program is to teach proper recycling, encourage the purchase of recycled products and teach about Broward County's waste management system, all while having fun!

Hands-on outreach activities include:
• interactive presentations
• quizzes
• contests
• educational literature
• giveaways

Lesson plans and games for class/home use are also available upon request.

The activities and games are designed to teach the value of recycling and how Broward County handles waste. Our outreach activities can be tailored to meet the needs of your group or special event.

Please provide volunteers to assist during the presentation.

Upon completion, participants will be given prizes that may include items made from recycled materials such as:
• pens
• frisbees
• key chains
• seat cushions
• magnets
• tee-shirts
• cups
• recycling activity books
• coloring sheets
