For Residents of Multifamily Complexes in the Broward Municipal Services District (formerly called "Unincorporated Broward")
Multifamily complexes in the Broward Municipal Services District are required to have a residential recycling program. Contracts must be in place with Waste Pro for the provision of solid waste and recycling services.
Put all recyclable items in the same cart(s):
- Newspapers, inserts, catalogs, magazines, junk mail, office paper, soft-covered books, file folders, soda cartons and crushed boxes from items such as cereal, tissues, rice and pasta
- Cardboard from non-food items such as moving or shipping boxes
- Plastic bottles and jugs such as milk, water, detergent and shampoo containers
(narrow necks only)
- Glass bottles and jars
- Milk, juice cartons and drink boxes
- Aluminum and steel food and beverage containers
Do not put these items in your cart or bin(s):
- Plastic bags or plastic wrap
- Styrofoam or plastic take-out containers or trays
- Certain glass products including window and auto glass, light bulbs, mirrors, glass cookware, bakeware or ceramics
- Scrap metal or aluminum foil
- Household garbage
- Food-contaminated paper or cardboard, or waxed cardboard
- Pizza boxes
- Flower pots or other gardening plastics
- Miscellaneous plastics (toys, cups, etc.)
- Garden hoses
- Holiday lights
- Rechargeable batteries
- Electronic waste or accessories
- Small appliances
- Medical or pharmaceutical waste or supplies
- Paints, solvents, herbicides and pesticides
- Waste such as gas cylinders, tanks, flammables
- Rocks, dirt, building debris
