Mission
The business of Broward County Government is to deliver cost-effective and collaborative services to enhance and promote the quality of life for our residents, businesses and visitors.
20 Year Vision
Broward County is a diverse, vibrant, urban community with parks, beaches, and green space. Broward has something for everyone. Positioned at the center of Southeast Florida, we are environmentally and economically sustainable and a gateway to the international marketplace. Broward County is a regional body working together with government partners and stakeholders to achieve common goals. We are home to innovation and a great place to live, work, and play.
Vision Statements
In the next 20 years, the Broward County Board of County Commissioners strives to create a community characterized by the following:
| Go Anywhere in 20 Minutes |
| We are the transportation hub of South Florida. We have a fully integrated, interconnected, public and private system. The Port and Airport, our two gateways to the international market, are fully integrated into the transit system. We have an accessible mass transit/light rail system that will get you anywhere you want to go in 20 minutes. You can choose your means of travel: “pay as you go” highway, rail, bus, waterways, freeways, and air. Retail and commercial businesses are readily available at transit centers. We are the #1 cruise passenger port and among the top 100 largest container ports in the world. Broward County’s airport provides for worldwide travel either directly or through a seamless connection to our regional partner airports. |
| |
Goal Statements
1. Cultivate community awareness and support for mass transit.
2. Create and maintain attractive, clean, safe, and synchronized transportation systems which link high-density corridors with commercial and work opportunities. |

| Cultural Amenities and Recreation: Something for Everyone |

Our citizens are able to blend work with play close to home because residents have services available to them with the opportunity to participate. |
