Of the 33 air toxics covered in NATA, in 1996 Broward County Environmental Protection Department (EPD) monitored for 10. While modeled concentrations were comparable to measured concentrations (within a factor of two) for five of the ten compounds, the others did not agree as well. An obstacle encountered with the analyses was that the modeled and measured concentrations of four of these pollutants were below detection limits in the 166 samples collected in 1996.
