It's been over 10 years since FLL has had a flight to London. Zoom Airlines will begin service on May 22, 2008 and will operate twice a week on Thursday and Sunday. The flight will make a brief stop in the island of Bermuda and then continue on to London. Zoom will arrive and depart from FLL's Terminal 4.

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is committed to ongoing efforts to enhance the airport's environmentally sensitive approach. Clearly there are challenges with an airport hosting 40 airlines with destinations to 60 domestic cities and 40 International destinations. In 2007 FLL handled 22.7 million passengers. The airport is managed by Broward County and the Board of County Commissioners who are all dedicated to the preservation of our beautiful South Florida community. Here are some of the initiatives currently in place at FLL designed to minimize our environmental impact.

In 2003 the Florida Legislature enacted the Secure Airports for Florida's Economy and created the SAFE Council. The Council is charged with enhancing overall security of Florida's air transportation system by identifying funding sources, enhancing management systems and training capabilities. In 2005, the Legislature dedicated 100 percent of proceeds from the United We Stand license plate to the SAFE Council.
