Animal Care has Adoption Centers in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach. Call either Adoption Center for information about the breeds of dogs and cats available for adoption. For the Fort Lauderdale Adoption Center, call 954-359-1313 ext. 2486, Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For the Pompano Beach Adoption Center, call 954-359-8278, Wednesday through Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m and weekends from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Animal Bite
To report a bite from a cat, dog, or wildlife to a human, call 954-359-1313 ext. 2484.

Dog Beach
Call the City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Division at 954-828-7275 to obtain a special permit required for the beach.

To investigate an Animal cruelty situation in an incorporated city, call the city police department.
Found Dog or Cat
Call 954-359-1313 ext. 2474 or the phone number on the back of the license tag to obtain an owner's address and phone number of a dog or cat you found with a license tag or tattoo.
Guard Dog
Call 954-359-1313 ext. 2473 for information about Guard Dog registrations procedures and fees.
Lost Dog or Cat
If you lost a dog or cat, call the Lost and Found Line at 954-359-1313 ext. 2474.
License Record
Call 954-359-1313 ext. 2488 or go to Record Update to update a record of a licensed cat or dog.
NuisanceWildlife
Call a private trapper (listed in the Yellow Pages) to trap healthy or nuisance wildlife.
Occupational Licenses
Call the Broward County Revenue Collection Division's Occupational License Section at 954-765-4697. Animal Care and Regulation does not issue occupational licenses. You should also contact the city of the business address for city licensing requirements.
Spay/Neuter/S.P.O.T. Program
Broward County's S.P.O.T. Program (Stop Pet Overpopulation Together) offers $10 spaying/neutering/fixing of cats and dogs for Broward County pet owners who earn low to moderate incomes. Call 954-359-2231.
If you don't qualify for the S.P.O.T. Program, the following non-profit organizations offer reduced cost spaying and neutering to any pet owner regardless of income.

Stray, Injured or Distressed Animals
From Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., call Animal Care Dispatch at 954-359-1313.
From Monday to Friday between 5:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays, call Fire Central Dispatch at 954-765-5124 or 954-765-5125 for the following situations.
