Broward County residents will be able to enjoy a fun-filled Independence Day holiday by attending the “Hot Diggity Dog 4 th of July Extravaganza!” hosted by Broward County Animal Care and Regulation.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fort Lauderdale animal shelter, 1870 SW 39 th Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
The Hot Diggity Dog event will include something for everyone. Children will be able to meet Animal Care Officers and get their picture taken in an Animal Care vehicle. A bounce house will also keep kids busy. Bargain hunters can take advantage of a book and rummage sale as well as freshly baked goods. In addition, grilled hot dogs, and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
All proceeds will benefit the Friends of Animal Care in order to buy food, medicine and other supplies for the shelter pets.
“Since the July 4 th holiday is on a Saturday this year, we thought it would be a good time to invite residents to our shelter to learn more about our facility and services,” said Cheryl Cayer, interim director of Broward County Animal Care and Regulation. “Guests will be able to tour our shelter, visit all of the dogs and cats that we have for adoption, and hopefully take a new best friend home with them!”
For more information about the “Hot Diggity Dog 4 th of July Extravaganza!” contact the shelter at 954-359-1010.
