Vision, Optimism, Compassion, Creative Nurturer, and Courage
Apple - Arts Teacher of the Year

The Broward County Arts Teacher of the Year Award is a very successful program in its 24th year. Created by the Broward County Cultural Division in 1985, it annually recognizes the most outstanding arts teacher in Broward County schools. It is the County’s unique way of honoring a very special person, in a very significant role in the community. The Arts Teacher of the Year Award is the only program of its kind in the United States.

“This award and the Arts Education program that facilitates it, is important for Broward County as it salutes an important fabric of the community,” says Mary A. Becht, director Cultural Division. “It gives credence to arts in education and acknowledges some of the many unsung heroes in the school system.”
