Arts Management Services

arts management
Artists and arts organizations get valuable one-on-one technical assistance and participate in Council-sponsored workshops aimed at increasing their management expertise. Topics include audience development, public relations, marketing, board development, fund-raising, financial planning, grantsmanship and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Technical assistance is available through ArtServe, Inc.'s Business Volunteers for the Arts Program. ArtServe shares space with the Fort Lauderdale Branch Library (1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL33304, 954-462-9191). Broward Cultural Division and ArtServe work in tangent offering a variety of services including: the ArtServe Business Center facility lease, a cooperative marketing program, educational and informative workshops and an alternative exhibit space for artists. This program was funded by the National Endowment of the Arts as a prototype for the nation as an Arts Incubator.

Marketing & Advertising Support
A Cooperative Marketing Program provides maximum multimedia advertising exposure for cultural organizations on a consistent basis, utilizing low rates and preferred placement. Additionally, a superior design concept builds awareness of cultural activities and increases audience attendance. Marketing consultation and publicity services are also provided.

Cultural Tourism
Broward Cultural Division works in conjunction with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Representatives attend travel, trade and business shows to distribute collateral materials and provide information about cultural activities. Cultural Division provides workshops and familiarization tours to showcase activities and institutions to the hospitality industry and assists hotel staff in promoting cultural events.
