Advocacy Committee
Educate voters on the impact of the property tax referendum (6.7). Support the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs and National Endowment for the Arts legislative requests. Advocate for arts education legislation which would require one full credit in music, theater, dance, visual arts as a requirement for Middle School Students. (2.2 CCP) Seek Public Art Sales Tax exemption. Enhance municipal support (6.1 CCP). Advocate for the inclusions of cultural facilities and historic preservation as eligible items for the Redevelopment Capital Program.

Committees are set up to implement annual or multi-year goals.  Members are urged to sit on committees that are of interest to them.  Committee business should be handled at the committee level and not in regular meetings.  If policy decisions cannot be agreed upon by the committee, their report should be reviewed at the Executive Committee prior to the regular meeting of the BCC.
