The Program is limited to ten (10) participants per year and requires a two (2) year commitment with a minimum of five (5) hours per month including.

• Attend one orientation meeting (required at the start of the Program) 
   

• Attend quarterly group meetings – (4) meetings are planned for each year, required is attendance of at least (3) of these meetings each year
   

•  Attend at least one monthly meeting of the Broward Cultural Council (required prior to Cultural Council assignment)
   

• Attend at least one (1) of the following meetings:

     -Broward Cultural Council Committee(s) (see Attachment 2)
-Cultural Foundation of Broward

• Attend at least one (1) of the following Grants Program Workshops:

        -Challenge Grant Program
-Cultural Diversity Program
-Cultural Tourism
-Design Arts Program
-General Operating Program
-Regional Organization Program 

• Attend at least one (1) workshop to enhance cultural leadership development:

        -Arts and Civic Engagement – Animating Democracy
-Arts in Education Conference
-Cooperative Marketing Program Orientation
-Cultural Diversity Forum
-Developing Annual Sustainability
-Exploring Creative Opportunities
-Fundraising for Small Non Profits
-Purposeful Boards, Powerful Fundraising 

• Provide assistance to at lease one Council committee and individual Council members with committee work
   

• Attend at least one (1) cultural event with Council Member and draft an Evaluation Report for the Council Member to Review
   

• Attend at least one Public Art and Design Tour
   

• Exit Interview and Written Summary at the completion of the Program

Application Submittal:                   March - April, 2008
Application Review:                       April - May, 2008 
Notice of Acceptance:                     May 2008 

Program Start Date:                         June 5, 2008

*Recognition ceremony at Broward Cultural Council meeting, followed by orientation meeting

  One-page typed cover letter explaining why you wish to join the Emerging Cultural Leaders Program. In your cover letter, please reference your areas of interest and/or expertise, particularly highlighting your volunteerism, skills and abilities, education and training in any of the following areas:  advocacy; fundraising; international relations; marketing; public relations; and volunteer organizing.

   Resume (two page maximum typed)

   A typed, 200-word brief bio
