Charlotte E. Rodstrom

Member of:
Broward Cultural Council, Broward League of Cities, Commissioner

Public Relations Committee

Charlotte E. Rodstrom was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Her parents met on Fort Lauderdale Beach during "Spring Break." After graduating from the University of Michigan, they married and returned to Fort Lauderdale with two-year-old Charlotte in tow.

Considered a native Floridian by most, Charlotte has spent the last 50 years living, working, raising a family and being civically active in her hometown community of Fort Lauderdale.

As a young girl, Charlotte grew up in the Rio Vista neighborhood and walked to Harbordale elementary school. She attended Nova during her middle school years and graduated from Stranahan High School. Charlotte then went on to attend Centenary College for Women in New Jersey. As an active supporter of continuing education, she attended classes at Broward Community College while pursuing a career in the airline industry. She retired in 1992, after 20 years of service.

Charlotte and her husband, County Commissioner John Rodstrom, are the proud parents of three sons. Travis attends Purdue University, Wade attends University of North Florida and John III will be attending St. Thomas Aquinas in the fall.

Charlotte and her family have lived on the Las Olas Isles for the last 20 years. During that time, her civic and volunteer interests have included: PTA President, substitute teacher, Homeowner President, community activist and numerous charity fund-raising events. She has also been a board member for several entities including the City of Fort Lauderdale Planning and Zoning Department and Stranahan House.

Charlotte currently serves as President of Fast Track Marketing L.L.C., a company dedicated to the motor sports industry and open-wheel car racing professionals. She is also an active member of St. Anthony Parish.

Elected as a Commissioner in the City of Fort Lauderdale in March 2006, Charlotte brings to the City her strong commitment, history and loyalty to the community. The neighborhoods in her district remain her first priority, as evident by the Homeowner and Civic Association meetings she regularly attends.

She has a unique ability to use her goodwill and knowledgeable resources to encompass other governmental agencies and communicate with all aspects of her diverse district. A very approachable and responsive person, Charlotte welcomes your input and comments and encourages you to contact her at 954-828-5004 or CRodstrom@fortlauderdale.gov.
