Alice Zendel Simon, a 21 year Coral Springs resident, and Westchester County, New York native, was appointed to the Broward Cultural Council by Vice-Mayor Stacy Ritter. For the past 12 years she’s been employed by the Broward Homebound Program, as a Case Manager to the elderly and disabled. As a Public Relations Consultant to Sherwood Optical Studio in Pompano Beach, she developed and implemented a successful public relations/public affairs program. Alice was an Account Executive, Supervisor and Editor with the international public relations firm Hill & Knowlton in both its New York headquarters and Washington, D.C. office serving Fortune 500 companies and associations for 7 ½ years. Her first job was with MCI Telecommunications in its Washington, D.C. headquarters as a customer service representative.

Alice serves on three Coral Springs committees: as a trustee on the Community Chest, a member of the Customer Involved Government, and Youth & Family Services Advisory. She was appointed by Coral Springs Mayor Scott Brook to participate as one of 11 individuals on the Commission’s Compensation Study Committee. Alice also donates her time on the steering committee of various political campaigns, and served on the White House Transition Team in 1981. She’s been an activist for excellence and quality education in the public and religious schools, a 20 year member of ORT, and life member of NCJW.

Alice received a Bachelor of Arts degree from American University and completed graduate courses in business, economics and journalism at George Washington and New York Universities. She is married to Richard, an Architect and President of M. Simon & Associates, & Plan Art Associates, and proud mom of two daughters who are attending the University of Florida. Alice’s love of the arts is strong as she frequently attends the theatre, concerts, museums and art shows.
