Broward Cultural Division invites interested participants from the community to a workshop on applying to the Creative Investment Program for Artists. The purpose of the Creative Investment Program is to assist eligible Broward-based, practicing professional artists to fund small, complete cultural projects in Broward County. Appplicants must not have received funding through any other Cultural Division program. The project must be an exhibition, performance or other arts activity.
To be eligible, artists must meet the following conditions:
- Be an individual, Broward-based, practicing professional artist
- Be 18 years or older
- Reside in Broward County
- Have lived continuously in Broward County for the immediate 12 consecutive months prior to the filing date of application
The program supports eligible artists with a recognized body of original works of art within an artistic discipline over a sustained period of time. Artists must also pursue this work as a means of livelihood and/or a way to achieve the highest level of professional recognition. Broward-based artists should demonstrate a history of professional artistic work during the past year as well as the ability to create a strong artistic project and deliver the project at a public venue. Funds will be available on a non-matching basis for use by the award recipient to support a project. An individual, Broward-based artist may apply for up to $2,000 per award on a funds available basis. An individual artist may apply for one (1) Creative Investment award per fiscal year and shall not receive in excess of $2,000 in Creative Investment funding during any County fiscal year.
