Description
Artist, Chisseko Kondowe, involved the Delevoe Park community in the design of this artwork. He selected 84 names of the leaders of the community, past and present, to be inscribed on his handmade tiles which adorn forty two (42) pillars of the community center. Four tiles per pillar resulted in one hundred sixty eight (168) tiles; plus, one hundred and four (104) tiles for the two gates at the park. Kondowe's intent is to pay homage to the wondrous spirits of the community.
