Description:
Artist Syd Solomon painted from his memory of his traveling experiences of the forms and colors that he remembered from a locale, in this case the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador in the Pacific. Purely non-imagist, one senses nonetheless the suggestion of submerged coral reef and rocky terrains in a post abstract expressionist style. This artwork is installed on the ground floor of the Courthouse.

Artist Statement:
"My means of dialogue depend only on an expression of an impression, my own inner feelings and the manipulations and encouragement of the forms and colors that are generated by my cooperation with the painting's insistences."
