Artist Statement
"Problem solving under pressure is represented by two opposing clouds which are bisected and linked by the horizontal movement of the Jet Stream. The docking maneuver of the Apollo and Soyuz spacecrafts stands for collaboration and cooperation where once there was discord. The concept of idea displacement with one idea influencing and reshaping another idea is symbolized by the reference to the occluded front where one weather system overtakes another. The intersection and reconciliation of opposing ideas is represented by the activity in the center of the painting."
