Crossing

Description:
This triptych of oil painting on linen mounted on wood panel depicts a school of red fish swimming from left panel to right panel. Each panel center is opening up to different imagery: left with a sailboat, central with aquatic plants possibly water-lilies, and right, a lighthouse. The juxtaposing imageries allow viewer to interpret an interwoven story line into the understanding of the artwork. The painting is installed in the conference room of the Center.

Artist Statement:
"All of the selected paintings express the artist's attempt to fuse a variety of cultural views and motifs into a coherent aesthetic whole. In this sense, the artworks are related to the function and goals of the community center."
