Animal Care Facility

Description:
Animal Garden, is a sequence of high visibility exterior, freestanding powder-coated metal sculptures that serve as a way finding device to heighten public awareness of the location of the facility and stimulate interest in the pet adoption service offered there. The Animal Care Facility primarily handles lost-and-found cats and dogs as well as pet adoptions. The building is set a considerable distance off of Powerline Road making it difficult for first-time visitors to locate. Now motorists will be greeted by a prominent welcoming party of five friendly cat and dog silhouettes, representing some favorites such as a golden retriever, boxer and short and long haired cats. In support of one of the missions of Broward County Animal Care and Regulation, each animal is depicted with a collar and license tag.

Artist Statement:
"Bold, bright, simple and direct… This artwork acts as a wayfinding device pointing the community to the Animal Care Facility which is several hundred feet away from the main road."
