Broward County Transit Launches the Wannado City Breeze
– Role-playing Theme Park for Kids will Feature Transit-Oriented Component –
Broward County Transit (BCT) and Wannado City® announce the launch of Wannado City Breeze, a new transportation system inside America’s first indoor role-playing theme park for kids. The project is made possible through funding from the Florida Department of Transportation, District 4.
The Wannado City Breeze serves as the official transport guide, complete with bus operator and video. The entire component includes a real–life, mini–replica of a BCT bus, bus stops, a main transit terminal and a special bus pass. Kids and families will enjoy an information video while riding on three activity bus tours. The videos contain facts on BCT services and careers, and on three Wannado City® activity tours.
The bus stops will be brand–integrated with audio and visual transit facts. A Wannado City Breeze bus pass is used as bus fare to ride the bus. The bus pass is purchased using ’wongas’, Wannado City® play money, and available at the welcome center.
“We are pleased that Broward County Transit has joined us as an educational partner. This project will enable our customers to have an interactive experience with the Broward County Transit system that is both educational and entertaining,” said Eduardo Morones, Executive Director, Wannado City®.
Chris Walton, Director of Broward County Transportation added, “This partnership is in keeping with the Broward County Commission's objective to build a new generation of transit riders by educating them at an early age of the importance of public transportation.”
