The County provides all benefit-eligible employees $25,000 in term Life and Accidental Death (AD&D) Insurance at no cost to the employee.
Benefit-eligible employees can also purchase optional tem life insurance and AD&D insurance in $25,000 increments up to a maximum of $150,000. Rates are age based and automatically increase in 5 year age bands.
Employees may also purchase $12,500 in dependent term life insurance for their Spouse/Domestic Partner and/or $12,500 for their dependent children. (See Plan Certificate for dependent children guidelines.) To purchase dependent insurance, the employee must purchase a minimum of $25,000 on themselves.
Upon retirement, an employee may elect to purchase retiree life insurance under the County Group plan by paying an annualized premium. Rates are age based. Click here to review the retiree life insurance rates.
