For plan year 2010, the County has implemented a Tobacco User Surcharge of $20 per paycheck if any enrolled member age 18+ uses tobacco products. To assist members who would like to quit using tobacco products, the County has done several things:

Waived the copay for prescription smoking cessation drugs (Zyban, Chantix, etc)

Waived the copay for over-the-counter smoking cessation drugs (Nicorette gum, Nicoderm patches, etc). Requires a written prescription from a physician.
Note: the annual pharmacy benefit limit for smoking cessation products/drugs is a plan cost max of $350.
Behavioral/supportive Therapy is also available for $0 copay under our health plan and can be accessed through Psychcare at 1-800-221-5487. Attach find the IS IT TRUE? flyer.
