World War II Exhibit at Main Library

Calling All Entrepreneurs

Broward County’s Office of Economic and Small Business Development will offer three Kauffman FastTrac programs in August. Workshops include The Intentional Entrepreneur on Tuesday, August 2nd and Listen to Your Business on Friday, August 5th. Both workshops will be held from 10:30AM-1:30PM at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale.

On Thursday, August 4th, an information session for the fall 2016 NewVenture™ program will take place from 6-7PM at the Innovation Hub at Broward College. Full Moon Hike

Join a naturalist to explore the nature trails of Long Key by the light of the full moon on Friday, August 19th, from 8-9PM. Watch the moonrise through the oaks while you listen to stories, myths, and legends about it from around the world. Preregistration is required the day before the event. Fee is $5 per person. Superhero Splash Bash at Quiet Waters Parks

Powerline Road in Deerfield Beach is hosting its Superhero Splash Bash on Friday, August 5th from 6-10PM. Central Broward Regional Stadium Welcomes the Fort Lauderdale Strikers

The Fort Lauderdale Strikers will play all North American Soccer League home matches at Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill. The club has undertaken the move in order to enhance the fan experience and game-day amenities. Fort Lauderdale will open at Central Broward Stadium on Saturday, August 20th against Ottawa Fury FC. Discover the World of Space and Astronomy

The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center at 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, has been awarded Discover Space: A Cosmic Journey, a traveling exhibit from the American Library Association that explores the fascinating world of space and astronomy. It covers topics such as the formation of planetary systems, asteroids and comets, Mars exploration, and solar storms and their impacts on Earth.
