Workshop Series for Aspiring Entrepreneurs

Broward County’s Office of Economic and Small Business Development FastTrac NewVenture™ program will help entrepreneurs develop a business concept and business plan. To get an overview of the 10-week course attend the NewVenture™ Information Session on Thursday, December 3rd, from 6 – 7PM at the Cypress Creek Administrative Center, 6400 NW 6th Way in Fort Lauderdale. Holiday Fantasy of Lights Returns to Tradewinds Park

The lights are twinkling nightly from 6 -10PM at Tradewinds Park and Stables, 3600 W. Sample Road in Coconut Creek. Gather your family and friends for a special three mile, drive-through, light show now through Saturday, January 2nd. Enjoy dozens of static and animated light displays and illuminated trees, including old favorites as well as brand-new displays. Admission is $15 per vehicle and $40 per bus (15+ capacity). Visit

Community Cleanup at Boulevard Gardens December 19th

Help beautify the Boulevard Gardens community by volunteering to be part of a cleanup on Saturday, December 19th. Everyone is welcome to lend a helping hand and students who take part receive community service hours. Bags and gloves will be provided. 23rd Annual Writing Contest for Young Readers

How did an author’s work change your view of the world or yourself? That’s the theme for the 23 rd Annual Writing Contest made possible by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation with support from the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. Students in grades 4-6, 7-8 and 9-12 may submit their entries starting November 2, 2015. National Winners in each competition level will receive a $1,000 cash award and National Honor Winners in each competition level will receive a $200 cash award. More...
