Hurricane Preparedness Open House May 14th

It's never too late to prepare for an emergency, especially for the upcoming hurricane season. To assist our residents with hurricane preparation, Broward County will conduct a Hurricane Preparedness Open House on Saturday, May 14th, from 10AM - 12:30PM at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center, 2650 Sistrunk Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Broward Science Day for Kids

Kids ages 5-10 and their parent or guardian will enjoy attending 4-H’s one day mini-camp on Saturday, May 14th from 10AM-3PM at the Fort Lauderdale Research & Education Center – Hurricane House, in Davie. Children will participate in fun experiments, activities and craft projects led by teen and adult 4-H volunteers and staff. The program fee is $20 per child. More…

Volunteers Needed for Shipshape Event

The 6th Annual Keep Port Everglades Shipshape is an opportunity for volunteers of all ages and talents to test their creativity and painting skills in a community service project to transform recycled petroleum drums into decorative trash and recycling bins that will be used throughout Broward County’s Port Everglades. Awards will be given for the most creative drums. Painting begins Saturday, May 21st from 9AM – 1PM at Port Everglades’ Midport Cruise Terminals.
