Broward County Hosts Strategic Planning Meetings for Central County Community
The Office of Economic and Small Business Development and the Urban Land Institute (ULI) invite Central County residents and business owners to participate in two strategic planning meetings to learn about and discuss development, investment and opportunity within the community. The free community meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 and Thursday, October 16 at the Urban League of Broward County, 560 NW 27 Avenue, in Fort Lauderdale. More
Rental Inspection Program
Beginning October 1, 2013, All owners of rental properties units, including single-family dwellings, that intend to lease, sublease or rent, will be required to apply for and obtain a Residential Rental Certificate of Use and pass a cursory exterior inspection prior to entering into any lease, agreement, or renewal. To better handle investment properties that have been neglected and poorly maintained, this program is designed to keep accurate contact information of such property owners to ensure properties are maintained to code regulations. Central County Beautification Project

Approximately 75 trees were generously donated by the Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport. The trees were relocated from the airport grounds and planted at the corner of NW 27th Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard. The trees include: 47 Coconut Palms, 19 Royal Palms, 5 Mahogany trees, 3 Cabbage Palms and 1 Gumbo Limbo tree.
