Renewing An Airport Ground Transportation and Port Business Permit and Decals(Out of County Operators)
 
Operating Permits will Expire on June 30th.
 
You Must Provide The Following:
 
  • COMPLETED APPLICATION
  • FEE(S)
  • REGISTRATION(S) FOR VEHICLE(S)
  • VEHICLE FOR HIRE PERMIT
  • INSURANCE
  • CORPORATION OR FICTITIOUS NAME DOCUMENTS
  • BUSINESS TAX RECEIPT (a/k/a OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE)
  • PHOTOCOPY OF CHAUFFEUR'S REGISTRATION (HACK LICENSE)

Explanations:
 
1. Submit a completed application for "Out of County Operators Airport Ground Transportation and Port Business Permit and Decals".
 
2. Fees for:
 
Ground Transportation (Airport) $50 per vehicle
Port Everglades Annual Business Permit $250
Port Everglades Decals $15 per vehicle
Port Everglades Initial Processing $200 applies to 1st time applicants and late renewal applications
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Payable by cash (in person only), check, credit card (except American Express), or money order.
 
Checks made payable to: Broward County Commissioners.
 
3. Provide a current Florida vehicle registration for each vehicle.
 
4. Submit Vehicle for Hire permit documentation. For example:
  • From Miami-Dade Passenger Regulatory Division: Current vehicle inspection report.
  • From Palm Beach County Consumer Affairs Division: Individual Vehicle for Hire permit for each vehicle.
5.  Provide a copy of a current certificate of Auto Liability insurance with minimum limits:
 - For vehicle with passenger capacity less than 9 passengers- $125,000/$250,000/$50,000
 
 - For vehicle with passenger capacity from 9 thru 19 passengers - $500,000 CSL
  • For each vehicle, provide a certificate with the year and make, and vehicle identification number (VIN); or
  • Fleet of vehicles, provide a schedule listing the vehicles and the pertinent information.
  • The certificate must list the Broward County Consumer Affairs Division as a certificate holder and provide at least 30 days advance notice of cancellation.

For Port Everglades Business Permit Only:

Provide a copy of a current certificate of General Liability Insurance with a minimum $500,000 per occurrence limit and listing the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as an Additional Insured.
 
6. Provide a copy of the articles of incorporation.  If operating under a fictitious name, then the motor carrier must provide a copy of an active, current fictitious name registration issued by the Florida Division of Corporations.
 
7. Provide a current Broward County Business Tax Receipt (a/k/a occupational license).
 
8. Provide a photocopy of current, valid Broward County Chauffeur's Registration (hack license).

Once the Consumer Affairs Division has processed your permit renewal fees, and verified that all the above information has been submitted and is complete, we will forward your new permits by certified mail.  Contact us with any question you may have.
