TEN WAYS TO AVOID CONSUMER PROBLEMS

1. Know how much you can afford and stay within your budget.

2. Always do your comparison shopping for goods, services, and credit.

3. Avoid impulse purchases.

4. Beware of promises whether for goods, services, or credit.  Get all promises in writing.

5. Read all contracts and never sign a contracts or applications with blank terms and/or conditions and always get and keep copies of contracts and applications in a safe place.

6. Never be pressured, a good price today should be a good price tomorrow.

7. Carefully read all advertisements, especially the small print and always ask questions.

8. Always get warranty and refund/exchange policy information (in writing) before you complete the purchase.

9. When appropriate, check with your local and state consumer protection agency regarding the complaint history of the company.

10. Always remember, IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT MAY NOT BE.
