Renewing A Taxicab Operating Permit

Operating Permits will Expire on June 30th, payment is due by May 31st.

You Must Provide The Following:

• COMPLETED APPLICATION
• FEE(S)
• REGISTRATION(S) FOR VEHICLE(S)
• INSURANCE
• VEHICLE(S) FOR INSPECTION

Explanations:

1. Submit a completed application for Taxicab Operating Permit.

2. Fees for Taxicab

Taxicab	$200 per Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity
Late Payment (if received after may 31st)	$50 per Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity
Late Inspection (vehicles that do not pass inspection by June 30)	$50 per vehicle

 

 

 

 

Payable by cash (in person only) check, credit card (except American Express), or money order. 

Checks made payable to: Broward County Commissioners. 

3. Provide a current Florida vehicle registration for each vehicle.

4. Provide a copy of a current certificate of auto liability insurance with minimum limits of $125,000 / $250,000 / $50,000. 

• For each vehicle, provide a certificate with the year, make, and vehicle identification number (VIN); or 
• Fleet of vehicles, provide a schedule listing the vehicles with the year, make, and vehicle identification number (VIN); and
• The certificate must list the Broward County Consumer Affairs Division as a certificate holder and provide at least 30 days advance notice of cancellation.

5. Each vehicle must be inspected by June 30th to be permitted to operate during the following year.
