The United Kingdom was South Florida's and Florida's 16th largest trading partner in 2008. Top exports from South Florida to the United Kingdom include aircraft and aircraft parts, pharmaceuticals, paintings, drawing and other artwork, yachts, and perfumes. Top South Florida imports from the United Kingdom include oil (not crude), alcoholic beverages and liquors, aircraft parts, paintings, drawings and other artwork, antiques, motor vehicles, and perfumes. There are currently 46 English companies located in Broward County employing over 400 people.

Broward County Mission to the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, and Italy
July 12-22, 2008

Broward County participated in a Team Florida Trade Mission to the UK and then continued on to visit current and potential new Port Everglades clients in Switzerland, France and Italy.  The first portion of the mission wase spent in London with Governor Charlie Crist and his delegation.  The major areas of focus were aviation, the environment and economic development.  The remainder of the mission emphasized the growth of Port Everglades businesses with existing clients and establishing new Sister Port relationships.  The County's economic development agency and aviation department in conjunction with Port Everglades targeted high level meetings to promote economic development opportunities in Broward County with international businesses and entrepreneurs.
