Foreign Trade Missions

The Office of Economic Development is tasked with not only promoting Broward County as a business destination for companies around the world, but to also introduce new international markets to Broward companies to explore as a possible location to do business. The OED researches, plans and coordinates at least one outbound trade mission a year as well as hosts multiple inbound business delegations from all over the world.

Inbound Missions

Often, inbound missions spawn from a visit from a city that was Broward visited during an outbound mission. Broward County receives inbound delegations from countries all over the world, looking for clients, at Broward as a new location for their business or looking for Broward companies with which to partake in joint ventures.

Outbound Missions

The Office of Economic Development coordinates at least one outbound mission a year from Broward County. The destination country is chosen based on current economic and political trends around the globe as well as compatibility of a country’s top industries with Broward’s. Broward County Trade Missions, led by Broward County’s Mayor or a Commissioner, include business to business meetings, meetings with top government leaders, and networking events and receptions.
