It’s October and the 2014 employee campaign for the United Way of Broward will officially kick off on Monday, October 14. Employees are encouraged to Jump On Board for United Way with a one-time contribution or by signing up for payroll deduction. Steering the fleet this year is Chris Walton, director of Transportation. Assisting him is Doug Webster, deputy director of Aviation, and Cindy Corbett-Elder, assistant to the transit division director, who will manage the fleet’s schedule.
This year’s campaign will continue through December 6 with many County agencies hosting fundraising events.
New to the campaign is ePledge, a convenient online way to make a donation. More information on this new paperless ePledge system will be coming soon.
As we gear up for kick off, start thinking about creative and fun ways your office can raise money with special events. All agencies are encouraged to show their support by hosting fundraiser events such as bake sales, ice cream socials and game shows, to name a few.
If your agency is having a fundraising event, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, to have it posted on the BC-Net and promoted in Sun eNews. Also, if your event requires use of the Governmental Center lobby, please contact Jennifer Desir-Brown at 954-357-7340, Office of Public Communications. All Onboard!
