America Recycles Day: Perfect Time to Sign up for Go Green Tutorial

Do you want to learn more about how you can help protect the environment? Sign up for the Go Green Tutorial for County employees. This first in a series of tutorials to educate County employees on how to reduce their carbon footprint, offers information about the County’s sustainability initiatives and simple ways to reduce, reuse and recycle at work and at home. Employees can register by visiting the Employee Learning Center on BC-Net and search for “Go Green Tutorial.”

America Recycles Day is November 15. But why dedicate just one day to highlight recycling? Throughout November, the Air Quality Program along with Solid Waste and Recycling is proud to remind all County employees to recycle as much as possible. Broward County employees are encouraged to recycle both at work and at home. Recycling is easy when you use an "All-in-One" container!

Broward County Government along with most Broward County cities use the “All-in-One” recycling system (single-stream recycling), in which recyclable items don't have to be sorted. Instead of placing items into two separate containers, items can all be placed in the same container. This includes items such as:

For the next six months, starting this month, the Air Quality Program will select one County employee who “likes us” on Facebook or one who "follows us" on Twitter and reward them with an Eco-Friendly Prize Package that includes a reusable cloth bag, an adult or child bicycle helmet, a tire pressure gauge, and an eco-friendly water bottle.
