Four Events to Highlight Homeless Awareness Month in Broward County

Broward County’s Homeless Initiative Partnership (HIP) is bringing attention to homelessness in November with four cooperative events designed to heighten awareness of our homeless population that will precede the upcoming annual Point-in-Time Count in January 2014. In a recent report to the state, Broward County's homeless population was indicated to be 3,801.
“November is National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Month and we want to start now to bring attention to the cause. While the Homeless Point-in-Time Count used to be conducted every other year, we are now doing this annually to get better results that help us to understand the needs of our community,” said Michael Wright, administrator of the Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership.
