Memorial Day – A Day of Remembrance

Most Broward County offices are closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day. Although various versions of Memorial Day have been around since 1868, surveys show many residents don’t fully grasp the significance of the holiday.

Paying tribute to veterans, their families and loved ones is what the day is truly all about. Celina Saucedo, Construction Management Administrator in the Public Works Department, will be recognized in August as one of 12 Hispanic Women of Distinction at the seventh annual charity luncheon sponsored by Bank of America and Latina Style Magazine, the nation’s leading publication for Hispanic women.

You can search online for cheap gas prices before filling your vehicle’s tank.

www.gaspricewatch.com: Type in city and state. Prices may not be as up-to-date.
www.mapquest.com: Click on the gas prices icon at the top of the screen and then type in your city.
