Airport First to Receive Local Economic Stimulus Grant
Broward County is moving quickly to ensure the local community receives a fair share of economic stimulus dollars made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). Even before President Barack Obama signed the ARRA into law on February 17, County staff was mobilized to respond. One $5.7 million grant has already been received – an airport improvement project grant to rehabilitate the terminal apron on Concourses D, E and F at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
