FLL Passenger Traffic On The Rise, International Traffic Soars
Year end total passenger traffic for 2007 was 22,681,903 up 6.1% over 2006. International traffic for the year was 2,858,047, up 20.4%. In 2007, Spirit carried more passengers than any other airline. Coming in 2 nd was Delta, Southwest was 3 rd , JetBlue was 4 th , and US Airways rounded out the top 5.

FLL Earns FAA Safety Award
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Southern Region Airports Division has awarded its “2007 Air Carrier Airport Safety Award” to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The “Air Carrier Airport Safety Award” is based on the development or implementation of a specific program or activity, or other special or unique accomplishment that resulted in enhanced airport safety.
The Federal Aviation Administration presented the “2007 Air Carrier Airport Safety Award” to Aviation Director, Kent George, at the annual Southern Region Airports Communications Conference in Atlanta , GA , on January 31, 2008.
