Role of the Director
The Director of the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) is responsible for implementing the natural resource management agenda for Broward County and providing leadership to the environmental divisions within EPD. The Director serves as an advocate for environmental protection, resource protection, and conservation, carrying out the policies of the Board of County Commissioners. As a member of the County Administrator’s senior management team, the EPD Director combines the science of natural resource protection with the policies of the governing bodies to develop obtainable goals for environmental protection, restoration, and conservation.
