The 4H Mission

To help youth develop the leadership, citizenship, environmental knowledge and life skills for successful lives and careers.

Did you know 4H could be in your neighborhood? It is for youth from 5 to 18 years of age who want to have fun, meet new friends, and learn some great skills. In urban Broward County the program offers "hands-on" education and fun projects in areas like marine science, photography, horticulture, food and nutrition, small animals, horses, computers and much more. The program also offers great opportunities to participate in public speaking programs, 4H Congress, Legislature Week and summer camp.

These projects and experiences help members learn how to make decisions, develop life skills and participate in the home and community. For parents -- 4H is a family activity that provides leadership and self-esteem training that helps young people mature into successful and fulfilled adults. Activities are designed so that it does not matter if you are a single parent, a two-career family or a grandparent.

So come on -- give the Youth Development/ 4H Program a call at 954-370-3725, ext. 5885 or 5878. The 4H email address is 4-H@broward.org
