Fleet Services No. 2 (FS2) was recently renovated in November 2000, with state of the art maintenance equipment to better serve its existing and future customers. This facility provides three unique services unlike its sister facilities FS3 and FS8.

The General Repair Shop provides vehicle maintenance on all types of light duty vehicles. There are two Preventative Maintenance (PM) services performed routinely by ASE certified technicians; 1) a PMA is an oil change, and 2) a PMC is an oil change with a brake inspection. Fleet Services No. 2 is incorporated with two PM pit service areas to expedite vehicles. PMA's are generally performed within twenty minutes, and while this fast service provides customers the opportunity to wait for their vehicles, a personal computer with internet access is available for customers to utilize in our customer waiting room. Complimentary coffee is provided and a variety of magazines are available for customers browse. This facility also has a state of the art back-up generator system which will self activate within 10 seconds if loss of power occurs.

The Electric shop handles high tech electrical repairs and maintenance on Fire/Rescue vehicles. This shop also installs emergency lighting, sirens, and other emergency vehicle electronic apparatus. The Electric Shop has its own alternator/starter rebuilding program which Emergency Vehicle Technicians (EVT) and ASE certified technicians rebuild a wide variety of components.

Fleet Services No. 2 performs fire rescue vehicle maintenance at its Fire Shop.  This maintenance includes PM's, chassis repairs, pump repairs and replacements, valves, aerial, engine, transmission and various warranty repairs. The Fire Shop has EVT/ASE certified technicians specializing in fire truck and rescue unit maintenance. A fully outfitted service truck is on duty to perform daily road calls and PM's at the fire stations. Fleet also provides after hour service (24) twenty-four hours, (7) seven days a week in support of the fire department.

The Parts Room employs two full time parts specialists. A wide variety of mechanical parts, electrical parts, and building supplies are stored in a spacious air conditioned parts room. Parts are stocked for emergency vehicles, passenger cars, and heavy trucks. Parts personnel are also Certified County Buyers and have access to all vendors registered with the County's Purchasing Division. This affords the Fleet Services Parts Section the utmost in flexibility in acquiring all materials needed to "Keep the Wheels of Government Turning".

Fleet Services No. 2 employs one maintenance supervisor, two shop foremen, one store supervisor, and one administrative coordinator. Administration personnel are also ASE/EVT certified. The administrative coordinator provides administrative support to all personnel at this facility, as well as handling the accounting requirements of our shop. The stores supervisor's duties include the supervision of inventory personnel and auditing the physical inventory in the parts room.
