RANGE ATTENDANT
SUMMARY: Under
general supervision, performs a variety of customer service and range
operations activities.
TASKS:
·
Monitors patron
activity at various range locations in order to protect patrons/staff and
minimize unsafe actions/conditions.
·
Maintains
assigned range area(s) in order to ensure a clean, safe shooting environment.
·
Interacts with
patrons in order to answer questions, or collect fees, instruct patrons, and/or
obtain needed information.
·
Coordinates the
work of subordinate staff in order to facilitate efficient range operation.
·
Maintains a
variety of range equipment in order to ensure a safe environment for range
usage, minimize down time for equipment, and minimize repair/replacement costs.
·
Coordinates
flights in order to ensure safe, efficient use of range facility.
·
Performs related
work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS – REQUIRED AT TIME OF

Knowledge of
general target/shooting range safety policies, procedures, and practices.
·
Ability to
demonstrate safe weapons and target range use procedures to patrons and staff.
·
Ability to read,
understand, and follow policies, guidelines, instructions associated with
target range safety and a variety of shooting events and activities.
·
Ability to
communicate effectively orally and in writing.
·
Ability to lift
and carry up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
· Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity in full accord with the letter and spirit of Broward County=s Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS – NOT REQUIRED AT

operation of a variety of firearms.

Knowledge of
established customer service procedures and techniques.

Ability to learn
to perform a variety of work activities associated with target range safety and
operation.

Ability to
explain target range policies and procedures to patrons and other staff.
DESIRABLE
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school; one (1) year of work experience at a target range or closely related facility
involving customer contact; or any
equivalent combination of training and experience.
