NATURE OF WORK

This is professional investigative work in the County’s Office of Equal Opportunity.

 

Work involves responsibility for investigating a wide variety of complex and sensitive cases, including allegations of discrimination in violation of local and federal law, and Americans with Disabilities Act-related reviews.  Personnel in this classification are assigned to the Civil Rights Division, and exercise considerable independent judgment in the conduct of investigation.  Work is reviewed by the Senior Equal Opportunity Investigator and Division Director through conferences, investigative reports, and program achievements.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in social or behavioral sciences; public or business administration;, or other field related to the investigative functions of the Office of Equal Opportunity, and a minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in investigations and compliance, with two (2) years in support of investigations and compliance in one of the following specialties: Americans with Disabilities Act; Equal Employment Opportunity; Fair Housing; or any equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
