ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR II
NATURE OF WORK
This is supervisory
and administrative work assisting in the coordination and administration of
business operations functions.
Work involves
coordinating administrative activities of a division, section or unit providing
a county service. Employees in this
class are expected to coordinate and manage operations with considerable
independence, although all major decisions are referred to an administrative
superior for advice and direction. Supervision is received through conferences
with an administrative superior and by adherence to established policies and
procedures.
Work involves
serving as a liaison with other county, state, federal, and community
agencies. Work includes coordinating and
supervising clerical administrative operations including personnel, purchasing
and record keeping. Supervision may be
exercised over clerical staff and specially assigned technical subordinates. Work is reviewed through conferences,
reports, and program achievements.
DISTINGUISHING
CHARACTERISTICS
This classification
is distinguished from an Administrative Coordinator I by the responsibility for
considerable independence and by the increased supervisory duties associated
with the position, as well as the complexity of the projects assigned.
ILLUSTRATIVE
TASKS
Coordinates the
business operations functions of a county division, section or unit; supervises
clerical and specially assigned technical staff engaged in a wide variety of
secretarial, clerical, bookkeeping and technical functions.
Coordinates and
manages activities of a program or project which has operational responsibility
of considerable scope; supervises, assigns and reviews work of subordinates
and/or specially assigned project personnel.
Assists in the
development of project procedures and schedules; prepares project reports and
related data.
Supervises and
reviews states of accounts and records, and assists in preparing oral, written
and statistical reports.
Provides
professional level staff assistance to an administrative superior, division or
department head in specially assigned areas of operation; assists and advises
on matters pertaining to programs or projects assigned.
Facilitates the
accomplishment of work through providing, obtaining and coordinating a variety
of services.
Provides
administrative liaison among various county operational and administrative
functions related to an assigned program or project; interprets and explains
policy regulations and operating procedures.
Maintains and
supervises maintenance or project records and documentation.
Performs related
work as required.

management, budgeting, and accounting.

knowledge of the functions and operations of the involved division, section or

business English, spelling and arithmetic.

organizational structure of county government.
Ability to plan,
direct, and coordinate the work of subordinates as required by work
assignments.

REQUIRED
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
Graduation for an
accredited four (4) year college or university with major course work in public
or business administration or a field related to area of assignment; four (4)
years experience in a staff or administrative capacity appropriate to the area
of assignment including supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination
of relevant training and experience.
