NATURE OF WORK
This is specialized technical work in the enforcement
and monitoring of emergency medical services (
Responsible for reviewing ambulance transportation
response reports and the corresponding billing for the ambulance providers
under contract for such services within
Assists in developing procurement and/or solicitation
documents. Monitors or evaluates compliance with the terms of

advice and direction. Supervision is received through conferences with an
administrative or technical superior. Work is reviewed through conferences,
reports, program achievements, and adherence to established policies and

ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS
Reviews ambulance transportation response reports and
the corresponding billing for the ambulance providers under contract for such
services within
Reviews and verifies ambulance-billing reports using
the parameters established for the forgiveness fee program.
Conducts field visits to inspect advanced life
support (ALS) and basic life support (BLS) transport vehicles for compliance
with state and
Verifies the credentials of the personnel assigned to
each unit for compliance with appropriate staffing levels for the contracted
ambulance providers.
Maintains vehicle permit
and inspection logs for the contracted ambulance providers.
Compiles periodic reports of the dollars expended and
remaining by each of the contracted ambulance providers for the fee forgiveness
program. Prepares reports regarding assigned contracts or grants.
Administers, monitors,
and/or evaluates assigned
Prepares narrative and technical reports using basic
computer office applications, including spreadsheets.
Prepares procurement or solicitation documents.
Assists in development of monitoring and / or evaluation policies, procedures,
and schedules. Assists in the review of solicitation or procurement responses.
Maintains contract-related
data in hard copy and electronic formats.
Uses agency specific
computer applications to record data and prepare statistical reports.
Performs related work as
required.
KNOWLEDGE,

Knowledge of emergency medical
vehicles, equipment, supplies, and operational procedures.
Knowledge of medical
billing and general business accounting.

Some knowledge of best
practices in monitoring and evaluation of contracts and grants.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
AND TRAINING
Associate degree from an accredited college or
university with major course work in a field related to the area of assignment;
four (4) years of experience in emergency medical services which includes two
(2) years of experience in the administration of emergency medical services,
including administering and/or monitoring grants or contracts, or any
equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
NECESSARY SPECIAL
REQUIREMENT
Possession of a valid Florida Drivers License. Must
be able to drive and to obtain authorization to drive on County business.
