The governing board of the district shall be the Broward County Board of County Commissioners. In order to assist the governing board, there shall be a water control district advisory board.

Created in 1966, pursuant to Special Acts, Chapter 61-1969.

Chapter 36, Broward County Code of Ordinances, as amended.

Amended by Ordinance #79-33, enacted May 16, 1979, providing that the term “Water Control District” shall be substituted for the term “Water Management District” throughout Chapter 36, Broward County Code.

Amended by Ordinance #79-93, enacted September 19, 1979, amending Chapter 36; providing that the governing board shall be the Board of County Commissioners; requiring each member to reside or own property in the district; establishing terms of two (2) years; authorizing the County Commission to create and dissolve water control districts.

Amended by Ordinance #80-31, enacted April 16, 1980, providing that the procedure established for appointment of members to the advisory boards of the various water control districts shall be applicable notwithstanding any other provision of county ordinance.


The Broward County Commission shall appoint three (3) members
who shall reside or own real property within the water control district.


Two (2) years.
Vacancies shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term.
