Student Name: Minh Nguyen
 First Place
 Student Name: Minh Nguyen
 School: Crystal Lake Middle School
 Grade: 8

My tile show (on the left of the hand) the effects that climate
change has on Florida, including hurricanes, high sea
level/flooding, and lakes drying out from high temperatures.
The hand stopping these effects show how it's in our hands to
stop or slow down climate changes. The pictures on the right
show what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint and slow
 down climate change.

Student: Maria Pitt

 Second Place
 Student Name: Maria Pitt
 School: Pioneer Middle School
 Grade: 8

My tile relates to the theme, "Protecting Florida's Environment
from the Impacts of Climate Change" because it describes
what you can do. It shows how realistically you can help.
The first sentences also show how we don't want to lose the coral
reefs. The picture helps visualize without them.

Students Marcos Soma and Jesse Feinman

By unplugging electrical appliances you save energy. This is
because even though the electric appliances are not on, they
still use electricity which burns fossil fuels. So when you're done
using something, unplus it because burning fossil fuels for
electricity adds CO2 to the atmosphere, causing global
 warming.

My tile is related to the theme because it show Florida's
environment with the impacts of climate change. I show this
by the glaciers melting, the factory with the smoke and the
 coral reefs getting destroyed.

One thing Florida can do to protect its environment is to recycle.
Florida can also carpool cars instead of using more cars. Lastly,
Florida can use more solar powered resources. Using these
new resources will reduce carbon and keep Florida pollution
 free (almost).

Student: Rashard Adams

My tile shows our power plants and other way to obtain
our power. Our power plants today waste our fossil fuels,
pollute the air, and destroy our ozone layer. The other ways
of power can supply us with the power we need, save our
fossil fuels, protect the ozone layer, and don't pollute.
So the other ways of power can save our state and possibly
 the planet.
