We all have a carbon footprint, but we want to get rid of it. But how? Easy, all you have to do is take part in helping the environment. In the tile, there is a person walking, meaning you can walk for short distances. But some people say “I can’t walk to work. It is miles away.” Well then, you could ride a bus for long distances. Also, some people are saying they have been paying too much for their energy bill. Well maybe, the next time you want to watch TV, go outside instead and be active. Instead of drying the laundry in your dryer, hang it outside. There are a lot more things you could do. So wake up and start helping!

In the “carbon footprint” that I decided to draw, there are examples of some of the many things that should be changed in order to help the world “go green.” In the background, there are some sayings that encourage everyone to do the right thing when it comes to reducing our carbon footprint. The “toes” of the footprint show positive things, such as the recycle symbol, a peace sign, and the world, to promote positive aspects of going green.

We can all reduce cars which reduces fossil fuel use, and that reduces carbon dioxide. We can also plant more trees to add more oxygen to the air. Riding your bike will also reduce the use of fossil fuels which reduces CO 2 . The name is “A Helping Hand.

My tile depicts the Earth being held by two hands from the bottom, representing the fact that the future of our planet depends upon our choices today. The stick figures shown holding hands on top of the Earth symbolize cooperation, not just between people in my community, but also around the world. The drawings placed inside the planet are just a few examples of what we can all do to help reduce our carbon footprint: replacing your SUVs for Hybrid vehicles, using Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs, using solar panels, etc. Another beneficial suggestion (not pictured) is buying Energy Star appliances

Pollution is spreading across the globe; we need to find a new source of energy. My tile represents people of the earth harnessing the power of the sun. The sun is the most powerful and abundant source of energy that humans are able to use, and since everything came from the sun, it only makes sense that we use it to power our everyday activities. If we used this energy instead of wasting time and money on fossil fuels, the environment would be much cleaner and a more suitable place to live in. We have the technology to harness the sun’s energy, so we just need to take a step out of the past and into the future in order to reduce our carbon footprint on the Earth.

My tile represents the amount of pollution contributed by factory farming. My research showed that due to all of the breeding of animals for just the use of food means a lot of methane gas goes to the ozone layer. Surveys have shown that the majority of people are unaware of how much greenhouse gas is emitted by only one of these farms. In order to reduce one's carbon footprint, it would make a big difference to eat less manufactured meats and foods requiring live stocks and instead eat other things such as more veggies!
