Main Library Holiday Open House

Main Library in downtown Fort Lauderdale opened its doors to a day of holiday cheer on December 14. Amid festive holiday decorations, students from Northside Elementary entertained customers and staff with a performance of traditional holiday songs. The charming group of youngsters brought their youthful exuberance to this seasonal celebration, making this Open House an event to remember. 
 

Books 'n' Bears at the Holidays

Hundreds of young children were treated to an afternoon of holiday delight at Broward County Library's annual Books 'n' Bears at the Holidays. Disadvantaged children from throughout Broward County were selected to participate in this very special event sponsored by the Broward Public Library Foundation. Each child was given a huggable teddy bear of their own, a brand-new book, and then enjoyed tasty treats and fun surprises. Smiles abounded as the youngsters received not just a cute and lovable teddy bear, but the gift of literacy.
