Mayor's Message

As Broward County grows, so does its libraries. Broward County Library, the ninth largest library system in the United States, has, over the past year, increased its role in our community. Our libraries are an integral source of information access for citizens of Broward County, providing free resources such as books, public computers, educational materials, and cultural and recreational programs.
This year, Broward County Library welcomed their 10 millionth customer, a solid measure of just how busy our libraries are and how important they are to the people they serve. Three new libraries, the Miramar Library and Education Center, the Tyrone Bryant Branch Library, and the West Regional Library, opened their doors this year, and groundbreaking on the new Lauderdale Lakes Branch commenced.
Libraries increase the quality of life in Broward County, and the Broward County Commission is proud of their commitment to the public. We continue to support their efforts and to look forward to their continued success.
